School and Sammis

Remember when you were a kid and you came home from school and felt like you were STARVING? Yeah, that also happens when you go back to school as an adult. And I decided this week to give up my beloved diet soda. Do you know how hard it can be to drive past Sonic during the peak of happy hour???
Alright, enough whining and on the sammi. I was starving hungry when I got home so I wanted something quick for supper.

Turkey, Avocado, and Feta Pita Sammi

For each half sammi, layer in order:
1 pita pocket
1 big leaf romaine lettuce
1 smear of home made guacamole
2 thin slices of turkey
1/2 Roma tomato chopped
1/8 cup feta cheese
1/2 tablespoon Greek dressing

This is so filling and has great flavor. It was also quick to fix and didn't dirty any dishes other than the cutting board and a knife :)

What is your favorite sandwich?

  1. So making this! My favorite is a club type sandwich. It has a good mixture and great texture. I'm big on texture. It makes all the difference in food.

  2. Oh that looks YUMMY!!!! Ummmmm.....BLT but ONLY when tomatoes are fresh from our garden. I don't know other than that. I get bored with sandwiches so I don't eat them too often. Maybe if I mix it up & do some fun ones I won't get so bored. I would love some more fun sammi recipes!!!!

  3. Thanks Tasha! I will try to do some more sandwhiches soon. I don't really care for regular sandwhich bread but I love pita! This would also be good with some bean sprouts on top and maybe a little ranch instead of the Greek dressing.

  4. Jodie, I agree on texture. There are some foods that just feel wrong in your mouth!
